Our
Technology

Our novel fluorescence sensor technology provides high spatial resolution and high force sensitivity, filling a technological gap in the current force and tactile sensing technology.

Irradiant's novel force sensor

Our sensor is composed of plasmonic nanodisk, flexible polymer and fluorescent nanoparticles. Exploiting the highly sensitive optical interaction between gold nanodisk and fluorescent nanoparticles, we can measure forces down to ~1 nN.  Further details are published in a scientific journal paper:  Optical Force Sensor Based on Plasmon Modulated Upconversion Luminescence.

Innovative nanosensor fabrication technology

Irradiant Sensing has developed an innovative nanofabrication technique which combines laser interference lithography, nanopattern transfer and dry/wet etching. This unique technique enables large-scale production of nanostructures composed of dissimilar materials.  Further details of our innovative fabrication technique can be found in this journal paper:  A scalable fabrication method for gold nanodisk-upconverting nanoparticle hybrid nanostructures.
